By what criteria you made such assertion. It really depends what you think where your kid would be living later. If your kid will be joining other students in the US for high school, then taking elementary school in Taiwan is backward and putting unnecessary damage to your kid. It is hard enough to be a teenager in the US, adding cultural and other barriers are very cruel to your kid.
In my personal opinion with 40 years experience on observation in the industry in US, technical person could be more advantageous if they were primarily educated in Taiwan first and come to US for graduate study. However, there are far too few managerial persons matured through this route.
